Last Leg Relays 2026 - Sunshine, Team Spirit and Some Real Winners!

On the 15th July, the Eastbourne seafront provided the perfect backdrop for another fantastic edition of the Tri Tempo Last Leg Relay. With warm sunshine, blue skies and a gentle sea breeze, conditions were ideal as teams of four gathered to take on this unique relay event.

The format remains one of our favourites: four runners tackle their individual relay legs before the final leg sees all four team members come together to run as a team, creating a brilliant atmosphere and a memorable finish along the seafront.

The racing was fast from the outset, with clubs from across the region battling it out for team honours. After some impressive performances, our category winners were:

Seaford Striders (Three Women and a Baby)

A huge congratulations goes to Hastings Runners' Sabrina's Strollers, whose outstanding time of 45 minutes and 10 seconds not only secured the Mixed Team title but also made them first overall across all teams on the night.

As always, the Last Leg Relay wasn't just about racing. The event showcased everything that makes club running special: teamwork, encouragement, friendly rivalry and plenty of smiles. Seeing teammates reunite for the final leg and cross the finish line together is what makes this event so unique.

A massive well done to every runner who took part, whether you finished on the podium or not. We know there was a sacrifice involved this year, as many participants chose the relay over watching the first half of the England vs Argentina match. While the result on the pitch may not have gone England's way, there were certainly some real winners on the Eastbourne seafront!

Thank you to all the runners, supporters, volunteers and organisers who helped make the evening such a success. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and left with great memories of another fantastic summer relay.
