Club Championship Challenge at Ardingly – Swim the Lake 2026
Tri Tempo members made the trip to Ardingly this summer for one of our 2026 Club Championship events, taking on the popular Swim the Lake open water races hosted by Mid Sussex Triathlon Club.
Held across two separate race days, the event provided very different conditions and an excellent test of open water swimming skills.
Round One – June's Chilly Challenge
The first event in June saw competitors greeted by much cooler weather, adding an extra layer of toughness to the swim. Despite the challenging conditions, Tri Tempo's swimmers put in some fantastic performances.
The standout result came from Eloise, who produced an outstanding swim to claim 1st place in the Women's 1500m event, stopping the clock in an impressive 26:25. A superb achievement and a well-deserved victory against a strong field.
Round Two – Summer Arrives
By the time the second event arrived in July, Ardingly presented a completely different picture. Sunshine greeted competitors and the lake temperature had climbed to a very pleasant 25°C, making for ideal swimming conditions.
The warmer weather attracted another strong turnout and provided the perfect opportunity for our club members to continue their Club Championships while enjoying one of the South East's most scenic open water venues.
