David Stringer: Club Secretary
David has been a keen cyclist from an early age and competed as a youth and junior. Only coming to multisport in 2012 he managed to qualify and compete in the ETU European Duathlon Championships in 2013 for Great Britain. David enjoys racing triathlon having seen slow but steady improvements in his swimming mainly at 70.3 distance where his goal remains to break 5 and a half hours. David is also involved in the Technical aspects of the sport having volunteered with British Triathlon for the last 3 years and in 2016 progressing to become a Regional Technical Official. This has seen him on the Officiating Team at National Championships which he hopes to continue into the future. Michaela Furlong: Social Secretary, Welfare Officer and Run Coordinator
Michaela has been involved in sport since the age of 10 and made the transition into the world of Triathlon in 2011. Since that time she has progressed from the local circuit to achieve podium status representing Great Britain on a National and International Level in Aquathlon and Sprint Triathlon. In 2014 Michaela switched distance to 70.3 and qualified to represent GBR in the 2015 ETU European Championships in Italy and has completed the qualifying rounds to do so again in Denmark 2017. In a bid to promote sport for all, Michaela is a motivational speaker and has recently qualified as a Level 3 Nutritional Advisor and Personal Trainer. With a wealth of experience in managing training and competing around a busy work and family life, Michaela is always happy to offer advice and answer any questions. |

Wes Mechen: Chairman/ Run Coordinator
Wes completed in his first event in 2011 an aquathlon in Littlehampton and this gave him the impetus to go on and compete in triathlon. Having always been relatively fit and played football regularly (until injury struck), this provided a basic level of fitness for entering into the world of triathlon. Through training consitantly and developing his swimming ability (which initially wasn't brilliant!), Wes has gone on to achieve success in local events in triathlon/ running and has been competed in the British Sprint Championships and also the 70.3 European Championships in recent years. |
Lee Dunstall: Membership Secretary/ Open water swim Coordinator
Lee first started running in 2012 after being a competitive rower and coach. The reason he got into running initially was to build up his endurance for rowing, but he soon realised he found a new love. From there, he then completed his first novice triathlon at Uckfield in 2013 and finished 2nd. Lee has moved up distances since then and has gone onto complete the Weymouth Ironman in 2016. Lee has a love for the sea and open water swimming and is the coordinator of the sea swims for Tri Tempo. In 2017, Lee has set himself the target of completing the Hamburg Ironman and beating his previous time at Weymouth. |
Ian Foxall: Social Secretary
Ian's first triathlon was at Eton Dorney in 2012. To say that it didn't go well is an understatement, but after finding out about Tempo several years later it was time to tackle unfinished business, and he entered a number of local events in 2017. Over the last few years Ian has mainly focussed on the occasional middle distance triathlon, having tackled Half Ironman Staffordshire and Half Holkham in 2018. Ian occasionally shows his face at the run sessions, and is always up for a chat and a gentle jog to get out of the high intensity sessions. He's also known to organise the occasional quiz night. |

Kevin Key: Bike Coordinator
Kevin is the odd one out on the committee having never participated in a multi-sport event, however he does have a wealth of coaching experience being a qualified cricket & football coach for over 15 years. He initially got back into running in 2012 to be able to raise funds for his work in Rwanda with the charity “Cricket without Boundaries” by completing a 10k run (after being told not to run due to a serious knee injury & rebuild!!), all went well and he continued to run as a way of improving general fitness. He added cycling to his fitness routine in 2014 and only purchased his first road bike in 2015! Kevin will be looking to add a cycling coaching qualification to his CV once an appropriate course becomes available (hopefully this year). Maybe 2017 may also see him enter a duathlon…
