Tri Tempo Takes on the Southwater Relays 2026
The Tri Tempo team headed to Southwater on Sunday 13th September for a fantastic morning of racing at the Southwater Relays. Despite overcast skies threatening rain throughout the event, the weather held up remarkably well, with only the occasional light shower making an appearance and conditions remaining ideal for racing.
The relay format provided plenty of excitement throughout the morning. Teams of three competed in waves, with Wave 1 beginning with a mass start. Waves 2 and 3 followed at intervals, each commencing once the final swimmer from the preceding wave had completed their swim leg and had battled through the lake weed! This unique format kept competitors and spectators engaged from start to finish.

So Close to the Podium
A special mention goes to Tempo Titans (Ethan, Nathan and Jamie P), who delivered an outstanding performance and finished just 10 seconds shy of a podium place, narrowly missing out on third position. It was a fantastic effort and demonstrates just how competitive the racing was on the day.
The event also marked a significant milestone for Jamie W, who completed his first ever triathlon. Stepping up to the challenge of race day is no easy task, and Jamie produced a very respectable performance. We are sure this will be the first of many triathlon appearances for Tri Tempo.
A Team Effort
While the racing is always enjoyable, events like these are about much more than finishing times and placings. They are an opportunity to challenge ourselves, support our teammates, and enjoy the sport together. Every Tri Tempo athlete gave their all and represented the club brilliantly.
A huge thank you goes to Eloise for organising the Tri Tempo teams and providing invaluable support throughout the day. Coordinating multiple teams takes a great deal of effort behind the scenes, and her hard work ensured everyone could focus on enjoying the event and giving their best performance.
Looking Ahead
Congratulations to everyone who took part. Whether chasing podium places, tackling a first triathlon, or simply enjoying the experience of racing alongside club mates, the Southwater Relays once again proved to be a brilliant day out for Tri Tempo.
We are incredibly proud of all our athletes and very much look forward to attending next year.
